Talking Speed Camera Operator... CAUGHT Speeding!!!

Quote:
Thousands of Maryland motorists have felt the sting of a speed camera, but what happens when the speed camera operator is caught speeding?

In the past year, more than 150,000 motorists were snapped by speed
cameras mounted in state vehicles that monitor highway work zones.

But one speed camera operator was caught breaking his own rules Sunday. A motorist used his cell phone to record the vehicle traveling 80 mph on I-70.

The vehicles are owned by a private company that administers the state's Safe Speed Program. State Highway officials are examining that contract.
This is funny as h**l!!!

GD it I hope they revoke that contract. Nothing but a money grab by the government and the contractors.

The problem is, this is a PRIVATE COMPANY, not government. They issue the tickets, run the speed cameras, and forward the state's "cut" to the government.

It's like in "Robocop" when they outsourced the cops to OCP!

Also, as a TV reporter, I hate reporters some times. The guy says in the video, "at one point his odometer hit 8- miles per hour..." ODOMETER? Really?

Still waiting for the Iowa Attorney General, Tom Miller, to get back to me on the Constitutionality and legality of redlight/speed cameras here in Iowa.

The company doing it here in Iowa is from Rhode Island. NOWHERE in the Iowa Code or the Iowa Constitution does the State of Iowa give a private company the authority to come into our state and enforce it's laws, collect the fines, and then send the state's/cities' cut back to Iowa.

In Iowa, you have to be a certified law enforcement officer or elected judge to enforce the laws.
