November 10, 1775 marks the birthday of the United States Marine Corps and it is quite fitting that the Marine Corps was born in a bar, yes Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, PA.

To all of my fellow Marines of the forum, Happy 235th Birthday!

Remember the past: Belleau Wood, Banana Wars, Pelieu, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Incheon, Chosin, Khe Sanh, Hue City, Saigon, Grenada, Panama, Beruit, Kuait, Desert Storm, OIF, Fallujah, Najaf...

and the Marines of the present in Garmsir, Marjeh, Nawa, Now Zad, Bar Now Zad, Khaneshin, Lashkar Gah, Sangin, Musa Qualeh, Deleram, Bastion/Leatherneck, and Dwyer taking the fight to the enemy in Helmand Province Afghanistan. Remember while we celebrate our birthday in CONUS, there is a Marine on patrol in support of the Afghans. We may have a nice cake at our ball, but there is a sweaty Marine that hasn't bathed in months eating that precious MRE lemon pound cake and celebrating our Corps!
