AT&T customers...I need some input.

First off...before anybody says anything. No IPhone. I've looked into it...I've played with it, and priced it. Not gonna happen.:(

Anyways, I'm renewing a 2yr contract, and I'm looking for a good touch-screen phone. I've narrowed it down to these two, and I'd like to know what you guys think. (It would be especially helpful if someone owns one of these two and commented.

).

I'm looking for good internet-browsing abilities, and a decent music player.
The Samsung is more expensive but it's just below my $$ limit. The only thing I'm worried about with this one is it's Operating System. I bought a Samsung "Sync" (flip-phone) back when AT&T wireless was Cingular and I hate the music player layout, but the overall OS wasn't terrible....

The LG has a Microsoft OS, including Media Player, which is neat. But I'm not thrilled with the display performance (supposedly it needs a stylus??) or the general look of the phone. It's also Wi-Fi capable where the Samsung isn't...but I don't think it's a huge deal if I'm getting an internet plan anyways (which is cheaper for the Samsung, btw...)

just fyi, you can get a refurb 3g iphone through ATT for $99, or new for $199.

the $99 one is a good option.

between those two though, id get the samsung

check ebay, lots of cheap new/used Iphone's

The only touch screen I like and recommend getting is the Black Berry Storm, that phone is the shit, to bad I got 6 months left on my T-mobile contract

Both of those phone are good. I have recently ordered the similar samsung through ebay. It is the samsung behold. Exclusively through t-mobile. However mine will be unlocked so not so exclusive any more. In addition, it has expandable memory up to 16gb, just like the iphone. However I have heard good things about the new razr v9. Gps, 3g, mp3, Expandable memory and decent price. Check it out on www.attwireless.com

not trying to jump on the iphone bandwagon, but ive got one, really like it, there are quite a few things i wish it did do, but its not really all that important.

but what i noticed is the samsung is 199 before the rebate, which means your still gonna spend 199 ( the same price as the 8gb iphone, or 197 at walmart) before you get the $50 back

if your willing to spend 200 up front, might as well go for the iphone if in fact you do like it

If it's any help, I <3 my touch. Except for the keyboard. The iPod/iPhone keyboard makes me want to go crazy every time I need to use it. If they made an iPhone with a physical keyboard I'd jump ship and buy one instantly, but they don't, so yeah.

And, yes, I'm an Apple fanboy that detests the iPhone.

Upfront isn't a problem. After all is said and done. It's still $50 cheaper. BUt even that isn't the BIG issue. The nasty thing I don't like about the Iphone is the $30/mo. mandatory charge to use the darn thing. I can get internet on those two (^) for $15/mo. and still cancel it if I feel like it.

I really don't have an issue with Apple. I used to have a Mac, my brother has an Ipod...and frankly, I'd rather buy from them than Korean-based Samsung or LG...but that's neither here or there.

So far...it seems like the Samsung is getting the head-nod...

I dunno. I played with it and wasn't all that impressed -- it felt "cheap". Plus, everywhere I see the Eternity, someone mentions how it's so much better than the Vu, and will eventually replace it in AT&T's lineup...
