I found a scam........ using the IRS site I pay my bus. taxes on........
So I get this e-mail today.........
The true link is embeded in the fake link appearing in the e-mail The link goes to a page that won't open...... (http ://bag-team.by.ru/vd4kua/red5.html) I blacked out what I am assuming is a fake transaction ID.... I have to get to work to check. I googled the address and get nothing. Not many words are spelled correctly in the e-mail, but the screen is identical to an EFTPS screen. (EFTPS is Electronic Federal Tax Payment System) I have no doubt this is some kind of scam. Not sure what yet...... Any other accountants or business owners using EFTPS, be aware. I'm not sure yet what the deal is. If any of you internet detective types want to take a stab, you have all the info here that I do.

We got a email just like that, last week at the dealership...
Obviously a scam of some sort. We just hit the "DELETE" button... Always amazed at the scams that are thought up.

Ya, it was the spelling that initially tipped me off.
And the reason I didn't delete instantly is because of the consequences if it's legit. Would suck. But, ya, with spelling like that, it could be a legit e-mail and I believe any court in the land would give me a pass. Whoever it is, knows I pay my tax bill using the system. That's what freaks me out.
