Dirt Bikes Wanted!

Please read, need help!

So i go out to Montana every summer with my family and friends, and me and my buddy get extremely bored every year. We end up doing everything we could think of to pass time (donuts in golfcart, camping, fishing 24/7, etc) but after a while it gets boring,,,

So my question:
How much could we get 2 used dirtbikes for at a pawn shop??? These would have to be bare minimum pricing (im saving up for my Camaro, just check my sig line). I was hoping for around 100-300$ a piece (online theyre running 600-1200) i know i could get them for cheaper at the pawn shop! (theres a bunch of pawn shops where i live)

Soooooooooooooo how much would they be running me???

Thanks!!!

CL

Probably not anything that cheap that is worth riding. You could prob find ridable dirtbikes in the $500 range. Even if its ridable, for 300 bucks theres prob so much wrong with it that it wont be reliable. Look on craiglist and find people asking $500 to $700 and offer less. you might end up with something worth riding.

Thanks! thinking we might combine our money and fix up whatever we get..... since ur right about the 200$ range, being that it wont run reliably

Hmmm.... Doing donuts with Golf Carts. If you plan on doing that on public land, do real enthusiasts a favor and take up something else like horseshoes. Too much land has been closed because of irresponsible use.

If you promise to play nice, decent gear will set you back a couple of hundred bucks. A bike that is halfway reliable will cost around $2000. And beware, they are maintenance intensive and parts aren't cheap. Just spent $300 freshening up the top end on my CR500 and it didn't even need bored. 4 strokes cost a lot more if you have to get into the motor. Stay away from the no name Chinese clones. Can't get parts and they are throw away. Honda XRs are notoriously reliable and good for beginners.
