Impressed with KIA....... Serious........

Saw a car today that I really thought was stylish and well done. As chance would have it the car pulled in to our lot. Client of ours had just bought it. KIA OPTIMA. I was absolutley impressed. I'd put this car up against any 30k and below car out there. Period.

KIA has come a long way. They must be doing something right.

Just wanted to give credit where credit is due.

I wonder if anyone ever stopped to consider how horrible the name KIA is for a Korean car company. Apparently Kia means something to the effect of "to arise from the Earth in Asia." All I can think of whenever I see that logo is all my grand father's war stories and MASH.

The Optima, IMO, is one of those cars that you see from the rear, think, "Hmm, not bad," then work your way to the front and think, "OH DEAR LORD WHAT HAPPENED?!"

They cost half as much because you will need to buy 2 of them. One car to drive while the other car is getting fixed and needs parts flown in from Korea. I knew a woman that had one a few years back and it was in and out of the shop frequently. It looks like it has a great warranty but they WILL NOT give you a free loaner when it needs service/parts and it WILL need service. LOTS of it. Parts were not stocked at that time so you have to WAIT for them to come in. Maybe things are different now but why bother?

Stay away!

there are good and bad coming off every carmakers assembly line. I think that "stay away" could be said about a whole mess of cars, including the new Camaro. (Camaros break? GASP!) I have a friend with a Kia and it has over 200K miles on it and has never had a single problem and she (the owner) barely has the sense to change the oil regularly.

I've driven a coupe of Kia models as rental cars. Most recently a Kia Soul. It was not bad at all, everyone was shocked because I said I would buy one if I needed a smaller, "get around" car.

I actually like the Sportage.

Kia's have come a long way from a few years ago. The dealer here offers a 20 year 200,000 powertrain with them.

No thanks, in the end it is still a KIA...

Which is part of why I ended up with the camaro. My previous car was a 07 SRT-8 300c. While it was a nice car, it was still a Chrysler. For some reason I just didnt like that car due to, the ora of it being a brother car, and it was in the end still a Chrysler. I knew in due time I would buy another car, and decide on the camaro over a Z06... But a KIA or Hyundai would have never been bought by me.

Well they must be in so high demand that the dealer has no choice but to mark them up.
