Unhappy GM Halts new Plant

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081218/...meltdown_autos

With GM waiting on a bailout to pay their bills, closing/idle plants, you got to believe quality might slip a little...

That plant's building the engines for the US-spec Chevy Cruze and the Volt's range extender. Both vehicles aren't due for quite some time. Everything will be fine.

And GM is idling plants because of the fact that we are currently sitting on 100+ days of inventory. No point in building more cars if you already have enough.

I think 90 % of this site (re 2010) has been speculation since day one. Facts are few and far between.... and most of them have been since July.

We are some speculative bastards, and we were right about most Camaro info.

All auto companies are cutting back to the bone to survive the recession.

This will not delay the Volt, as previously posted above.

No offense to the OP, but all these doom and gloom threads are getting on my nerves.

We all KNOW that plants are shutting down for Jan. What is so new about this?!

So...any UAW or CAW workers out there? What happens to your pay when a plant shuts down? Do you still get paid and if so, what percentage of your pay?
