Shunt II Alter ego...

For all you old school folks, Mr Twisty is on a rampage... Been incognito for a long time and now he's bombing the site running amuck..... We may have found the long lost Shunt II....

He's a Camaro guy through and through, and I'm happy with his life status and driving situation, both professionally and personally... Too Soon?????

Just search shunt in the search box. You’ll laugh your ass off for a good long while.
Its a long long long running inside joke from the board, and you’ll get the origins of shunt II

Got it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I guess it's one of those "If you know, you know".

I apologize and there was no intention of hiding anything from anyone… But as was mentioned, the shunt joke goes back to 2008, or more probably early 2009….

It was a very long running joke of who is Shunt, and why is Shunt in the trunk??? It made the rounds for a very long time and raises its hilarious head every so often… in the most random places…

There was an “informative” piece of paper attached in a conspicuous place in the cabin of the early Camaros… It explained that “Shunt is in the trunk,” and people ran with it, the very earliest members and lots of other OG’s…

Mr Twisty is certainly one of the eldest OG’s, both in time on the site and in years of life… He arose from the dead or missing files and bombed old threads and places he used to haunt… Members build threads, some of the biggest and most heavily followed members build threads here on the site… The old folks thread in off topic etc… He was missing or inactive for a long while and suddenly comes back and hammers a bunch of threads… So I monikered him Shunt II, arisen from the trunk….

This old pic below might jog some memories. Shunt was quickly known all over the Camaro world back then, and spread almost as fast as a flash mob. It was a running joke about those ugly spy shot prototype headlamps and as the story goes, "Shunt" asked about if they were the real headlights and ended up stuffed in the trunk with a rope hanging out the trunk and a sticker on the dash. It was funnier at the time because we still had "unknowns" about the 5th gens and speculations abound and many had nothing else to do waiting for the cars to roll out.

I dug up a lot of the old threads yesterday, and this seems to be a pretty good summary of it.

One thing I didn't find what the thread that he irritated Scott... I'd like to read that.

Amen to that, I’m jealous I missed out in real time. It certainly was an excellent time in 5th Gen history.
