Test drove a GT500 today

I was at chevy getting my SLP exhaust transferred from my A6 to my M6 that I traded for saturday. Next door I saw a gt500 so I ask for a test drive. This car cant grip worth s**t. 1st gear= sideways 2nd gear= sideways 3rd gear= sideways.

The sound is very impressive and I love the supercharger whine.
The camaro has it beat in the looks department.
The interior is about even.
The acceleration had the skin on my face felt like it was being pulled off. A tad bit faster than the SS.

The GT500 is an awsome car for its price but I just love Camaro's. Plus the Camaro is my DD and I dont see the GT500 being driven in the snow or even the rain for that matter.

Just had to share my experience.

I LOVE the sound the GT500 makes when the SC kicks in...sooo cool.

I love all of the muscle cars...but the Camaro has my heart.

I love it when guys on here talk about how slow the supercharged-V8 GT500 is because they say it cannot get traction, but then they say they just can't wait to get ahold of a supercharged-V8 Z-28, like it will somehow not have that same issue.

Don't see where anyone said it was slow.....just that it can't hook.....that's Fords problem for a poor tire choice.....switch the tire and its as fast as you would think....its a bad ass car....but we are on the Camaro forums.....lol

The GT500 has been the top production muscle car for years. You think Ford will just sit around and let GM top 'em with the Z/28? Not likely. They are already working on something special (along with the Mustang redesign). That is why the Z/28 has to be priced right (under $50K).

No one in this thread slammed the GT500. From what I see, they're complimenting it.

Besides, you're on a Camaro forum.

I would have expected you to have thicker skin, here. :emoticon7:

Just had to share my experience.

Camaro is better as a total package, but I'm not sure there is anything more "muscle car mean" than this...now the back end is pure crap, but the front..

definitely mean....i don't like the hood scoop....but the front end is scary! When is the stang redesign supposed to happen....complete new body?

Shelbys are extremely badass no matter how you look at it. They are notorious for having a lot of wheel spin, but really once you get to 5 or 600 HP coming to the rear axle, there's going to be wheel spin no matter what. Top line cars like the Vette try to minimize this with stuff like enhanced launch and traction control.
