New 2011 RS V6 Owner
Got her almost 2 months ago now, the first car I've ever bought. Coming from a dinky 90s ranger this has been a blast, but I can probably use some wisdom from the experts when it comes to maintainence.
Got her at 72K miles with a missfire and a few bcm codes. Lose cable fixed the missfire, and showed that the coils are effectively brand new. On the docket currently are a full brake rotor/pad replacement, new rear tires, and possibly a new battery. Is there anything else I should check up on that isn't immediately obvious to a mechanic's once-over? I'm also excited to toss on a cai(+tune), though I haven't decided which yet (vararam looks so sick,) and by end of year hopefully a catback as well. I'm planning for it to be my daily for the next 5-6 years, and ive already put nearly 5k miles on it. I've never been much of a car guy, but this has got me really excited to learn. |

I would do a full fluid change for everything since it has 72k on it. And you might want to install an oil catch can too, keep the oil out of the intake and valves. The V6's were bad about that. If it is an auto car, trans fluid and filter change would help also.

Congrats on the Camaro!
Agreed with above .. I just got into a 2015 and fluids is what I have been changing before anything else.

Forgot, also check all your hoses and the belt for any signs of wear and weakness..

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
![]() oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Also, consider the timing chains and all related components. The LLT engine is known to have problems.

Congrats on the car!
Sounds like you have good plans for it! In support of your Cat-Back search, here's a video of my v6 with borla touring cat backs... https://youtu.be/CNgaSJQ9br8?si=eWNNku0WJdEH2uKg |
