3G Shutdown and loss of features..????

Anyone up on this?....(know or care?)...Not sure what to make of this...

Anyone noticed a loss of features?....I have a 2017 Impala that I use the Nav, Bluetooth, WiFi Hotspot, etc....Haven't heard anything from GM about a loss of features. My understanding is that On-Star is used somehow, but I never had an On-Star subscription...and they keep trying to sell me the $99.00 Nav map up-grade...Anyhow...??

P.S. To check GM database I also need my key-code...How and where do I find that?...lol
