problems with tabs ?

i dont check my bank account often enough but it seems like everytime i do i find that a resturant or bar has double charged me or charged me by tab and someone elses , for instince i noticed today that a resturant charged me my tab and someone elses and i called up there and they looked into it and they were like oh we are so sorry blah blah blah, theres no telling how many times ive caught them trying to do this , does this happen to anyone else ?

I only run tabs at places that know me. Never really had a problem with that. But EVERY month someone charges at least one of our cards for some BS. I get them taken off no problem but no telling how many I didn't catch over the years.

thats what im thinking , theres no telling what i dont catch, becuase this has happend to me at numorous restuarants and several bars as well, i can see where its possible to happen at a bar where hey they are really fast pase but hows it happening at a resturant , "oh im sorry i had you pay for their dinner as well "

Yea this happens a lot especially if you pay with a credit card. There are quite a few dirty managers out there that will double charge you, add on bogus items, or charge you for someone else's. The reason is bonuses. Most of the big name restaurants give out bonuses to managers and asst. managers based on sales and very few people now-a-days even look at their credit card transactions, they just see the amount due and pay it. The few times the bogus transactions do get caught get caulked up to error and taken off so it's pretty easy to get away with and difficult to prove that it was intentional. This is why, if I know I'm going to a bar or restaurant, I will stop by the atm or bank and withdraw enough money to cover the bill.
