Tax Season- Cam Choices?

Well it tax season and I some some extra cash ($3000). I've done tons of reading and looked at as many post as I can find.

Goals: 470+rwhp/ 425+rwtq , good drivability (it's my DD), deep rumble, Mid-High end
Current mods are in Sig: full bolt ons 418rwhp / 420rwtq

Location: Arizona, 91octane gas, 100+ summers, I will need a shop to install

Cam choices I like: LG G6X3 cam, NightFury cam, TSP 231/ 236, and Pheonix Cam (PCM of NC)

Misc: I will get all the extras as well for any cam...springs, push rods, melling oil pump, gaskets, etc...

Possible Mods ( same time): 3.91 gears, port stock LS3 intake, xpipe, pulley( idk which to choose)

Future mods: 2yrs time, will consider FI ( S/C or Turbo)

-Thank you in advanced

Why not call a cam grinder and discuss your plan with them? They can spec you one or recommend an off the shelf grind to fit what you want.

I was also planning to do that, it's Sunday so I wanted to hear opinions from people or vendors on here that have had experience in this. Trust me I've read a lot of post and thread but i still can't choose.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Only with the gears, I'd go with the larger cams because its a DD. If not getting the gears right now, get the smaller like TSP. You could get the 229 236 from TSP too; less agressive and torque earlier. From what I've read, tuner makes all the difference for drivability but you know that already.

I am impressed too by all the big cam getting the big rwhp numbers we want, but I'm not impressed by how they run at the track. They NEED that 4:10 to shine IMO.

I'm kinda confused since I've read that the G8 record holder is running a tiny cam..Rick Crawford Racing custom Lunati 219/223 .625/.625 112+0(just did a quick search, correct me if needed). Those G8 are heavy like our cars but its a 6.0l so I'd run something bigger for the 6.2l. Point is, early torque and great powerband moves those cars...not only top end.

ITs all about the whole setup; big cam, big gears. Stockish setup, go smaller and its better.

Theres a guy running in the low 11s@117mph IIRC with a baby cam on stock springs!! That makes you wonder why big cam cant run past 118mph...

And last thing, from all I've read about it, it seems that those cams really need that extra compression to shine..And tighter LSA is better for power but makes the drivability worst. So a smaller cam on a thight LSA, if I get it. Its very complicated and you can play with all the variables, but any knowledgeable guy here/sponsor can answer. Tick performance, TSP, GPI, Lethal, Florida speed...they can set you up better than me.

There is the agressiveness of the lobes to look at too for a DD. And I might be crazy, but I'd go with cam motion cores (they use higher grade steel than com cam) and even pay for an extra polish or whatever they call it.
