Shipping via freight ?

I'm trying to get a good price to ship via freight.
Resident to terminal

Terminal to terminal.

Does any one know of a good company that won't charge outrageous amounts ?

Maybe you should check out the conductor thread. I'm sure he could point you in the right direction.

UPS Freight is worth a try. I have used them recently and they did OK. I would call them again. Determining the freight class can be a big chore. Higher freight class numbers means more $$$ to ship. Don't ask me how to determine the class as it is a secretive nebulous mystery. I picked one and just rolled with it. Most carriers will offer a discount so ask when you are on the phone with them.

LTL shipping is a pain!

What are you shipping? That is a pretty high rate class. FWIW - I was shipping HVAC equipment using a "77.5" class.

Front bumper fascia.
You think is should be lower ? The reps I speak with might think a bumper is something really big and heavy

Try describing it differently - "Plastic cover".

That was my first choice but then box exceeds the height by 12 inches which means no go.
That extra 12 is going to cost me

I had a rear bumper cover for a Ford Flex shipped to me via Greyhound just a few months ago. As a FYI it was wrapped up in several layers, not boxed, but it showed up fine.

If you're not in a hurry someone that has shipped one may chime in...

Try ABF if they're in your area, don't call it a bumper cover or fascia, just say it's a plastic panel, the weight and box size. You might also tag it fragile.
