My 2004 Monte Carlo LS (Picture Heavy)

Hey guys, I've been posting around quite a bit and you are all probably wondering why the hell I'm here with a Monte in my sig... As some of you know i'm here to learn about Camaro's before I end up buying one here in a couple of years.. so here's a little on my Monte Carlo...

It is victory red, I have a full system in it, nothing fancy but it's loud and beats stock x100, I have an intake, tune and some other visual mods that you will see in the pics:

Pics are from stock to current point in order...

[img[https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/39500_416779953550_5050943_n.jpg[/img]

As you guys can see it's come a long way, but the time has come that I need to stop modding and move on to something bigger and better!

In a couple of weeks my car will basically look like it did in the first pics.... although i'll still have the upper and lower grilles, fog lights, spoiler, tint, black roof channels, painted stock rims and dual exhaust/tuned and maybe a FWI intake if I can find stuff laying around.

I will be touching up the bumpers in spots and just making it a clean daily driver.

What do you guys think on painting the ground effects a galaxy silver? Hmm that's been wandering around my mind for a little bit haha

What do you guys think about my car at where I got it to?

I think Red/silver/black is a good color combo. Paint the GFX.

I think it looks pretty sharp, but maybe I'm biased.

wow... now I want to! thanks for that pic... now the GF's gonna be right.. I told her I wanted to do them black, but black looks bad and red is just normal.... I'll probably do some silver now hahaha this will more than likely happen late next week lol

Nice Monte Carlo! I recently bought a 1996 Buick Riviera S/C for daily driving commuter while I wait for the day I can buy a Camaro, and I love it to death. Even if I have a few things to work on.

Any other mods for this car, or hold off with the mods?

Thanks! The W-body's (G-body's are fairly similar) are great, and with the S/C i'm sure it's pretty quick for what it is too!

What's done to it now is about all that will be done to it, I had big plans but those are being cancelled so I can start saving for a Camaro

Nice Monte, I had a 2003 in Superior Blue Metallic that I really liked a lot. Even drove it from upper eastern Tennessee to Abliene Texas twice. One time in 19 hours. Averaged 33 mpg. And 65 mph with stops.

Nice! Was that an SS or LS? That's pretty good MPG!

That they are! I believe the only main difference is the weight from being slightly longer? There could be more too it, and probably is, but performance wise the main difference is the weight. I got to ride in my cousin's 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP when he still had it. Was fun car for sure with the same L67 in her. I've been contemplating modding my girl a bit to get some more pep out of her. Though, for being a FWD, personal luxury coupe, that weighs in at roughly 3,750lb's, she goes pretty good. The L67's are nice engines with plenty of low grunt, and with only a few mods can be made to go really well for a v6. Every time I think about modding her though, I remember my "other G-body" project/fun car though. My 1987 Pontiac Grand Prix. Besides that, I need a few things fixed on the Riviera before I even begin to start modding. Right no my supercharger coupler is going out (rattling sound, like rocks in a can, can be heard at times..), need fluid changes, rust and paint repair (which, since I have the ever so nice, and ever so expensive, pearlescent white, it's going to be costly.. Something I don't want to think about, but it needs to be done sometime..), and that about does it for repairs.. So, for now, modding the Riv will be put on the back burner till she's done. It's great though. I've always wanted a 1995-1999 Buick Riviera S/C and a 1978-1988 G-body car, and I have both! My next car purchase, I've been thinking about a new Camaro (possibly waiting for a 6th gen..), however, a classic '60-70's Buick Muscle car is something I've always dreamed of as well.. Something about a 1967 Wildcat, 1969/70 Riviera, or 1966-72 GS just to name a few, that gets me perky in the morning. Hard choice for sure to make, but luckily I'm not in that position to buy one.. yet.

Thumbs up

As a fellow Monte owner I LOVE my car and I would SO buy another one but I would probably go for a SS model, not so much for the bigger motor but for the more amenities like leather, audio controls on the steering wheel, full gauges in the dash, etc. mine is basic white with medium gray cloth interior. as much as I would LOVE to upgrade the sound system in my car I have to say next to the JBL system that I had in my 95 T Bird this Monte has the nicest sounding stereo I have ever had from the factory, I would only ever consider upgrading to better speakers, and keep the stock head unit.

Fun fact about the 2000 up Monte Carlo since they are based on the 00 up Impala, which are built from the factory to cop car specs, all the beefy cop car goodies like the brakes, suspension, etc are also in the Monte as well. I like that my car has 'cop brakes, cop shocks' etc.
