They don't run as good as the Chevys or Fords and their gas milage sucks.

I guess there aren't too many Fiats running NASCAR in Italy.
(Sarcasm explanation: Fiat owns Dodge)

True dat. Maybe NASCAR will run a new series of real "stock" car racing.
Say something like a Camaro ZL1, Challenger SRT8, Mustang GT500 series. Now that would be a race to watch. Stock except tires and roll cages.

No disrespect, but I dont think Nascar make financial sense anymore. the cars have absolutely nothing in common with the vehicles they represent, the days of win on Sunday and sell on Monday are long gone. People say Nascar stickers make good advertisement, but for the cost I dont think its worth it. how anybody benfits from Nascar financially other than the drivers is beyond me.

There's kazillions to be made in Nascar. All the tracks they own (seen the ticket prices), merchandise, licensing, TV, sponsors, fees. I think the latest fee for a cup driver's license is 8 grand.

There are several reasons it didn't financially work for Dodge, and had nothing to due with other Nascar financials. They were down to half heartedly being involved with one major team, who wanted out anyway. If you don't have involvement with multiple top winning championship contending team, the tens of millions to be involved aren't worth it. But for Chevy and Ford, they absolutely benefit huge from their racing involvement. For one example - watch the pace cars. That is like an all afternoon prime network TV ad for a Mustang or Camaro. You can't buy advertising time like that without that Nascar involvement.

That is one example of race on Sunday - sell on Monday. Has nothing to do with the race cars, but millions of people just saw a bad ass pace car for several hours of their weekend. And they can buy that car.

That sir, would be worth the price of admission! Of course with all the safety concerns and such now, i doubt it would ever happen.

That just to bad, NASCAR was all about American cars, now that Toyota is in it takes away from the sport. I always love it when Chevy or Ford win. NASCAR is big money and corporations.

Maybe you should look up a few facts and a little Nascar history.
