A little help with using Samsung S6 with pics/video please

Okay, I am still trying to learn how to use my S6. I can finally do the basics, calls, texts, taking pics. Now I can't figure out how to use the pics. I am in process of downloading just a few pics (6 or so) to the Verizon cloud. Why in the heck does it take so long? I tried connecting the phone to my laptop with the cable but neither device recognized the other. There was a bling sound when I connected the cable but no message on either device recognizing they were connected & when I went to my computer the phone was not found. I assume there is a way to get the pics from the Verizon cloud to the computer but how do I get the Verizon cloud onto my laptop? I tried watching videos & reading info I googled but each of them freezes up my stupid computer. Can I say once again.......I hate change in technology! I am just too old for this crap! I dread even trying to learn to get videos from the phone to youtube.

I'm a Samsung user if I'm not mistaken when connecting a phone to a computer via USB your phone will have a drop down which asks how would you like to use the USB (charge or for file transfer)

Apparently it did not even connect. The phone did not seem to recognize it was connected to the computer. I had no drop down and the camera was not found in My Computer???????

Are you logged in on the phone? If the phone is locked, it won't connect as a drive on your computer.

Hi! I'll try to help you out step by step. I presume you are simply trying to get photos from your phone to your computer.

Some notes:
1) Verizon apps suck. Try not to use them.
2) Samsung apps suck. Don't use them either.
3) Google/Android apps are generally the best. They are the easiest to use and easily allow you to access your stuff on your computer without needing to 'send' them to the computer. The 'cloud' is what makes the backbone of a lot of these 'apps' - you do something on the app and it pushes it to the computer. You do something on the computer and it pushes it to the app, etc.

My first question for you:
Do you have a GMAIL or GOOGLE account? This is the first step in fully utilizing Android and your Samsung SGS6.
https://accounts.google.com/signUp?service=mail
Use that to create a Google account.
It will give you access to the 'Play Store' which is the 'App Store' for Android.

Let me know when you have your account set up (or if you already had it set up) and I'll help you with learning how to share photos.

Also,
another way you can send your photos is by emailing them to yourself. You do this by finding the photo you want to email, find the "SHARE" button and then select 'EMAIL' or 'GMAIL', and it will auto attach it for you.

I'm getting out of work now so I'll check this thread again later.

Download flickr. Very user friendly, and you can even set it to auto upload pictures.

The phone is not locked so I guess I am logged on though I don't log in or out, I just pick it up & use it.

Download it to the phone or laptop?

I have a gmail account but don't really use it as it keeps wanting to merge all my emails including the Camaro club one & locks me out of my youtube account (though I may have fixed that, not sure). From Flickr will I be able to post to C5, Facebook & YouTube?

Okay, I got Flickr & was able to post pics to Facebook but still don't know how to get them to my laptop or to post pics to C5. Being old & tech challenged sucks.

Log onto flickr on your pc, go to the picture you want to download, and click the downward pointing arrow in the bottom right. That downloads it to your computer.

Okay, did that, but, apparently they have to be selected one at a time or it zips them which I do not want. Plus, I selected & moved a couple but it did not let me choose where to put them. It did not put them in my pictures & I have no idea where they went. Can I just say it one more time...........................I HATE Changing to new technology!!!!!!!!!!
