I have heard great things about both, I will say that this will be my first experience in the area so if anyone that has done these before can give any suggestions, I'd be more than willing to defer to them.
Personally, my top preference is to hit up the main 11-mile stretch, with the 318 curves and the photographers and such. Would love some nice action shots, and I live in Florida, where curved roads seem to be illegal. However, I'd love to check out either/both routes if others are interested!

http://www.cherohala.com/ are much longer routes than the 11-mile main stretch. However, after hitting up the main spot and back, it looks like we could do either if anyone is interested in an extended drive?
