I'm quite sure nobody has developed any relevant evidence (wind tunnel drag or smoke tests).
But think about it. A big hole under the back of the car can produce a vortex/high pressure area. At sufficient speed it could result in rear lift.
If getting passed by your rear tires at 150+ mph is not a concern to you, then go for it. If it is, don't.
