Lugging is simple to understand and there is info all over the web. Based on torque specs, it's harder to detect on some engines like the Lt1 where the car can almost come to a complete stop in 4th before it becomes obvious. Still, understanding it and avoiding it as much as possible should be a fundamental part of owning a manual, IMO.
