GM used to offer the GMPP extended warranty, it had tiers and different deductibles. Then after the bankruptcy the plan went away which is when the dealers really started pushing the 3rd party plans.
I am not a fun of the 3rd party stuff, too many variable and stuff they wont cover. I always bought the GMPP plans. I am sure eventually GM will have set pricing on their plans so that the buyer will be able to keep the dealer in check to make sure the dealer isnt raising the prices on the GMPP plan.
