I am a mobile auto detailer and ALWAYS have a kit in the trunk that i consider the "road trip essentials".

Quick Detailer (w/ Clay Bar ready, great for road tar, bugs, dirt, etc)
Quick Spray Wax
Window Cleaner (Invisible Glass, by far the best stuff, read more below)
Tire and Trim Spray (Lucas makes some really good stuff)
Quick Interior Detailer & Cleaner (not necessary, imo)
Polished Wheel Cleaner
Scratch-X
Chrome Polish (for the tips and small strips of chrome on the car)
High Quality Chamois (for any precipitation)

I honestly think this covers everything for exterior wise.

ALWAYS CARRY CLEAN MICROFIBERS!

For EVERY step, I require at least 2 microfibers. One to apply and buff in, and one for the "final wipe" and removal of any remaining product. ESPECIALLY INVISIGLASS! I see lots of people complaining about this product and how it "streaks". It streaks because you MUST make sure all of the residue is gone. This can't be done with the microfiber you used to apply it. Always use a "dry" and fresh microfiber cloth to do the final wipe.
