It's the opposite really. White is all colors, black is none. Think of it as the sun illuminating the world. A material that reflects all of the colors in the spectrum is experienced as white. That's why black materials (and Corvettes) become warmer in the sun faster, they absorb the rays of the sun instead of reflecting them back to the environment (and your eyes).
