The LT5 is what the LT4 should have been all along. Why GM stuck that puny little 1.7L supercharger on it and let the Mopar boys have their glory with their "707 hp", I'll never know.

Since the LT5 is going in the new ZR1 Corvette, putting it in the ZL1 too would be a bad marketing decision. It would siphon sales from the Corvette like the current ZL1 does (to some extent) from the base Vette.
