Next evolution for the Camaro...double pivot UCA?
When the 5th gen Camaro came out, it adopted a double pivot front lower suspension design for improving scrub radius and unsprung weight reduction.
The 6th gen continues with this design approach but uses lighter aluminum and composite components for even greater unsprung weight reduction.
Now, it seems that the premium luxury brands, like Audi, have adopted a dual pivot upper control arm as well. Instead of using one UCA on the spindle, or a spring strut assembly like on the Camaro, two separate upper control arms are utilized with two individual ball joints.
I'm sure having dual pivot points on either end of the king pin spindle is superior for ride and handling.
Is there or would there be any consideration for adopting this suspension design on the next gen Camaro?
