Hi all.
My name is Andy and I live in the U.K. I am just about to take delivery of a shiny new 2018 2SS A8 convertible. The car is at the dealership and should be with me in around 10 days or so. (It's going to take me that long to release the funds)
Now technically we are not allowed to use the SS name in the EU, (I think the Germans are a little touchy on the subject) so the Euro spec cars are just called either 2.0T or 6.2 V8 but over here they come very highly optioned. My car is in Silver Ice Metallic with Adrenaline Red Leather. I have added Magnetic ride, sports exhaust and machined face alloys to it, but that's about all I could add, everything else is standard.
My previous car was a 2007 Mustang GT/CS Convertible (hence my user name) which I had from new and highly modified over the time I had it. I upgraded suspension, brakes, steering and added a Roush TVS supercharger. Also loads of very subtle visual upgrades. The car was a real sleeper running mid 11's in the quarter mile on street tires.
I plan to do similar with the Camaro, starting with some minor mods just to make her my own and eventually building up to a blower, so be prepared for me to be driving you all crazy with a bunch of questions and technical advice. I must confess I have been lurking on here for the last couple of months trying to gain as much knowledge as I can before the car actually arrives and based on what I have learned from here one of my first mods will be a Tony Mamo ported throttle body, although I want to drive the car for a couple of months first so that when I do swap the TB I will be able to feel the difference.
Anyway, sorry for the long post andy I look forward to pumping you guys for information. I will of course post up some pictures as soon as I have the car in my possession.
