It's funny how these threads always trend to one group insisting that it has to be all one way and another group insisting that it has to be all the other way. It will either be "everything will be 100% electric" or it will be "here's why it is impossible". There really is a whole lot of grey area in the middle.

For some people, including performance car drivers, electric makes total sense. For others it makes no sense at all. Because of that, we'll more than likely see a rich mix of electric performance cars (Porsche Mission E, BMW i8 Electric) electric family cars (Chevrolet Bolt EV, Nissan Leaf, Tesla Model 3) and electric SUVs (Ranger Rover Evoque, Jaguar i-Pace). But there will still be many, many options of ICE powered vehicles for those for whom EV makes no sense. True, there will be fewer options, but there will still be options. Don't like electric? Don't buy one. Think electric is the future? You'll have options.
