A lot of folks at Tesla, Faraday Future, and NextEV would disagree with you and bring hardware to prove it. All make at least one vehicle that does 0 - 60 in 2.5s or less. Google Tesla S P100d, Faraday Future FF91 and Nio EP9 for details.
Just for the record...in a hydrogen fuel cell, the hydrogen isn't "burned" to create power. The hydrogen is involved in a chemical reaction with ammonia compounds to produce electricity, with water emissions as the byproduct. So it is essentially an electric car, but with the electricity coming from reformulating hydrogen instead of from a plug.
