One should not have to ask a MOD to delete their account.
Asking a mod won't get you anywhere as we cannot delete accounts either. This is part of the policy set by admin and it relates back to the eventual archival nature of forums. By annihilating every trace of a persons membership, it can disrupt dead discussions. And, to put it in the simplest terms possible, we value those discussions for future visitors more than the whims of users who no longer wish to be part of the site. Even when we ban a member we don't automatically delete all their prior posts, unless they're a spammer or something.

So, if you wish to leave the site and never come back, nothing is stopping you from doing so. If you subscribe to notifications, I suggest going through your user CP and disabling all notifications for those subscriptions instead of marking incoming e-mails as spam (which, if enough people do it, can eventually cause problems with automatic filtering algorithms)

But if you do leave the site then change your mind at a later date, you are always welcome to come back (as long as you remember your password).
