Ok here is his philosophy. He doesn't view God as a religious entity such as Christians, Jewish, and Muslims see it. He sees it as a greater entity.
So let's look at what attributes "God".
God in philisophical terms is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent. Therefore, according to this criteria "God" is a Perfect being.
By saying God does not exsist you are making the statement that:
Perfect being is not Perfect being.
That sentence in itself is a contradiction and contradictions are necessarily false. How can a perfect being not exist, when it is perfect?
