I bought one for my sons first holster as I felt they were pretty safe, he still has it.
During the draw out of almost any holster one should have your trigger finger along side the firearm, point/shoot if you will. To release the firearm from Serpa the trigger finger is already in that position, made it easy to teach. I always told him, leave your finger there until you are on target and ready to fire.
Really no idea why they would ban them...............
Agree that they are hard on the finish, none of my 1911's have ever been in one.
