At that time I received a component coverage letter that extended the warranty on my top till December 13, 2016 or 82,000 miles whichever occurred first. After that I have not had any issues with the top till a few weeks ago when the how bent again for the 4th time.
My issue is the top had not been down since sometime in October 2016 after that it was just too cold here to lower it. I put it in storage in November as I always have so it was not being used when the extended coverage expired. The first time I used the top in early May it broke again. I contacted my dealer who told me to contact GM who basically told me sorry about your luck coverage denied. If I had lived somewhere like Florida where I could have used the top past October this would have happened during the coverage period and they would have had to fix it.
Now it appears I am on the hook for an expensive repair that I fully believe will happen again because the design of the top is flawed. To make it worse I spent a lot of money on mods this winter because after 4 years of no issues I thought my top issues were behind me. I would just sell this car but i have it looking just the way I want it and we really love it. Besides I don't think I can get enough out of it to get into another toy vehicle without taking on at least a small payment which I don't want to do. Sorry about the long rant.

Zandron sorry to hear about your top issues, I would still try and contact gm again on it . hit upper management , see what happens ..they might even offer some assistance such as pay for half or full ..it would not hurt to escalate it .
