Well, since the 6.1L has more displacement, obviously it has more performance "potential".
The problem with the R/T is that the 5.7L is a brand new design for 2009. It got a cam and head upgrade which added like 80 or 90 HP over last years 5.7L power plant. There are no hop up parts for it as of yet like cams, and the heads actually flow better than the SRT version.
Personally, if I do anything it'll probably be a Kenne Bell. That's an easy bolt on 500+ RWHP and from everything I've seen their tunes are out of this world in terms of reliability.
