Actually, it's pretty badass that you DO have to put a cage in it from the factory to run 9's at an NHRA track. What street legal GM cars have ever come with cages AND that could run 9's right off the showroom floor?
And, they were talking fastest production car at the STRIP, not overall.

I think they changed the rule on the 11 second cars if the car was made after a certain date because several high end cars from the factory were capable of 11s
