Porche and BMW are shying away from these things due to their inability to reliably handle high-torque engines and "High-torque" in German is "a decent amount of torque" to Americans...

...It will be interesting to see if Ford can get around that...or if they put a traditional 6-speed auto in their more powerful vehicles instead.

EDIT: I also like watching the two companies (Chrysler doesn't count anymore..) approach the same issues (fuel economy, quality) in different ways. It's pretty exciting, because neither one (so far) has really gone about it "wrong".
