If you have a play call that puts you on a 99.6% chance to win the game, do you go with one that has much less chance?
Then again have one with a 98.1% chance, and throw that opportunity away as well?
No you don't.
You play smart, you don't roll the dice.
There is a reason why no team in the history of the NFL had ever came back from a deficit of 19 points or more in a playoff game. 0 for 93.
Everyone else that had these same very high percentage plays didn't opt to go with something different.
Again, the PATS did play fantastic, but Shanahan gave them the opportunity by bucking the smart play.
