A larger sedan or SUV from Volvo would be your best bet...but the slow airbag deployment speed is something else. That needs to be fixed by Ford asap.

I don't know that I agree with that. I suppose I could see where light weight and whatnot may cause a vehicle to have lower-than-stellar ratings. But you shouldn't have to compromise safety expectations just to go fast...in some cases, the chassis stiffness and tuning go hand in hand between the two goals.
...Especially if some git decides to blow a stop sign while I'm on the way to the track...you know?
