The technology has certainly improved since the '70's. I remember putting a dime under the throttle stop so the SOB would idle to warm up on really cold days and sticking a pencil down the carb to hold the choke open a little. Now you jump in and twist the key, it doesn't matter what the weather is the computer and fuel injection trim it all perfectly.

Chevy engines have long been nearly bullet-proof. I'm sure you will be happy.
