Should be interesting to see how the pricing plays out.
They have baked in more performance features in the 18 base GT (portions of the current PP are now going to be standard). Not to mention any increased costs attributed to twin disk clutch, new flywheel, and port/direct injection on the coyote.
When I shopped the Camaro vs the GT, I was attracted to aspects of both cars, but at the time (mid summer), an SS was 4 grand north of the GT. I was able to get the GT with PP all in for about 32 grand including taxes, tags, etc. With some sweat equity I put in my own leather seats and touchscreen system, ending up with quite a bit of car for the amount paid. I love the car, but hope that there is still a rather inexpensive v8 car available, or they will hurt themselves with sales demographics. Camaro obviously learned this lesson.
Would love to be a fly on the wall during the planning meetings for both cars where they decide on feature cost analysis.
