Brings back a lot of memories, thanks for sharing! I went to Ho Chi Minh City as a small prepositioned team supporting Air Force air flow for President Clinton's visit in 2000. I recall everyone having a job, the scooters, sights, sounds and smells. We affectionately nicknamed the market downtown "The Dammit". We would go to just look, or to get some food, but would leave with something under our arm and cursing under our breath "dammit". We did a tour of the Ho Chi Minh trail, and saw a few Buddhist temples. I befriended a girl there, and she was like my own tour guide. Last night there we had a late night dinner over looking the Saigon Embassy, did night city tour, I nearly missed the morning show time the next morning back at the hotel for my departure. On top of that, we also had a few days off in Hawaii on the way back to the States.
