He served in several branches. He enlisted Army but didn't get called up. So in '42 he transferred to Navy Aviation and decided on USMC while in Advanced. Combat Corsair pilot and flight instructor. Then in Korea he flew Panthers and Sabres. Got himself three MiGs.
