Does it brake well? No.
Does it corner well? No.
Anything special about the suspension? No
Both these cars will get beat on a road track against a ZL1, be it the 5th gen or 6th gen. And it does not take a lot of $$$ in aftermarket to step up the power to race in a straight line.
The GT350 is a step in the right direction if Ford can keep them from catching on fire.
But seriously, how many people have actually gone 170mph or faster in a car? Far fewer than people who own a car capable of that speed.

Not sure why you decided to throw the Shelby into it, but ok. To me Hellcats are impressive, because it is a 10sec @ 125+mph 1/4 mile car with just the help of some good rear tires. Not only does it do that, but it has ALL the bells and whistles. Interior is VERY nice. It brakes good. It handles good. All with a factory warranty. All for a very reasonable price.
The Shelby is very similar to the Hellcat, except it is better than the Hellcat in the handling braking delartment.
14-15 ZL1 is also another amazing machine. It handles amazing, it brakes amazing, with plenty of power but it does get eclipsed in the acceleration department by both the Hellcat and the Shelby. Interior is also very nice but not as nice as the Hellcat's or Shelby's.
The new ZL1 will be just as fast as the Hellcat and Shelbys, but much better balanced and an all around better car.
The all represent the pinnacle of car muscle. They are all amazing machines, pick your poison.
