Hi! I'm not a long time lurker or anything. I actually found this wonderful mecca of useful Camaro knowledge after purchasing my first brand new car, and began the inevitable search for ways to customize and make "a Camaro" into "my Camaro". Frankly, I was worried there for a bit. Searching at first only gave back results for the SS and, having the V6, I thought it might be much more difficult to find or adapt parts. Then I saw this place. Well, actually I found the Camaro5 forum and that lead me here.
What I loved the most is the sense of community here! Everyone posting about their own journey and projects and helping avoid mistakes or the possibility of voiding your warranty (accidentally, of course) if that matters to you. Sure there's the occasional troll, but they seem to get obliterated by the Camaro family here.
On a side note, it seems that the Camaro family sentiment does not extend to everyone on the road. I've smiled, nodded or waved (or some variation/combination) on the road or at stop lights, signs, etc. So far I've gotten mostly ignored. I've also been laughed at twice, flipped off once and gotten return nods a handful of times. One person rolled down their window prompting the awkward exchange of "I'm just being friendly" and having to yell over the sound of traffic. One lady thought I was attempting to woo her. Alas, my charming combination of odd looks and awkward facial expressions proved insufficient.
Anyway, I look forward to this awesome journey and sharing with everyone on here. I love learning from others and their experiences so I will spend plenty of time on here. If you see a garnet red Camaro LT roaming the streets of El Paso, just know I will not only return the nod but will join you for coffee and Camaro talk! See you around!
P.S.
I know this has been long enough and very few probably made it this far, but if you want to see my Camaro and see the family enjoying it, here's a little video I did.
