A compliant off road suspension is not the same as a regular truck setup so you will have a reduction in payload and towing rates. Stiff leaf spring packs are great for towing and such but is not very articulate off road which requires good suspension travel to help smooth out the bumps and aid in rock crawling.

Go compare the Ram Power wagon to a regular 2500 4x4 and you will see a big difference in its' capabilities with regard to payload and towing between the two.
