Anyone here a Service Advisor at a dealership
Looking at making a career change from tech support for a fruit company, which pays decent, but there seems to be no advancement even though the promise of X Y Z has been given for years.
I have always worked a 2nd job, and am wanting to get away from that, to save a bit of time for my family.
I was offered a position at a local GMC/Buick dealership, that also has a Chevy dealership a few miles away, as a Service Writer/Advisor.
The Ops manager tells me their SA's average 55-65K a year, some make a little less, but most make more. Here is the thing-its pretty much all commission based.
Anyone here an SA, and had issues? Big thing for me is, I dont like what I do now. But its steady, and pays well, and has good benefits. And then the 2nd part time job is...well, a part time, mundane job.
I could make considerably more money as an SA, and would be around cars, and other unseen benefits working for/at a dealer....
But I cant find any true to life information other than what the Ops manager told me.
Thanks!
