The SS is a niche car. Not many people want a RWD V8 powered sedan. That is the reason GM has only sold ~2,300 in 3 years of production. The chances of GM building a version with an LS9 are slim and none. GM is reluctant to build niche cars, since they aren't profitable and considering their financial problems in the recent past...well you can imagine. Why throw money down the toilet on non-profitable vehicles? It is also the reason why we will not see a GM competitor (Cruze SS?) to Ford's new 350hp Focus RS. Niche cars are a waste. Please see "Chevrolet SSR" for a prime example of how to waste tons of money.
