Going to Lake Palestine tomorrow to spend time with family and fish fresh water. Wanted to know if anyone makes their own catfish bait?

I've been using a pretty simple mix for a while now and it has been pretty good for me, but I'm willing to break the routine and try something new.

I usually buy a package of chicken liver, put it in a small plastic container with 2 whole heads of crushed garlic and let it sit for a few weeks outside. I've actually used the same liver for several years once and just finished the last mix last year. I'm open to suggestions. Try to keep it simple, not trying to build a meth lab for a small batch of bait.
