I use Federal Hydro shock +P in my springfield mod 2 .45 for carry gun.
Here is that round in. 45:

This is just comparing this factory load range between calibers. If you reload I believe you can load 10mm to a higher pressure. Although for factory loads they are really close. Main difference is the smaller caliber 10mm vs .45 so it will penetrate deeper for hunting.
I had a very close friend of mine do ballistics testing for the government with 9mm, 10mm, .40, .357 sig, and .45. He will not own anything less than a .45 acp for carry purposes. Personal opinion and test results weigh into this decision as well.
