No one ever wants to have a substantive discussion on the 500 year supply of shale oil currently located in the Rocky Mountains..............a supply greater than the known reserves of, well pretty much everything known to exist today.
Now if you want to drive an electric car, that's cool. A $120,000 electric car mind you.
Myself, I am very much looking forward to driving the Volt. And then Fen will be bugging me to drive to Ohio.....................which because of the Volt technology I will be able to do. Not something you can do with the Tesla.
Regardless of the amount of oil left, the demand for it will increase astronomically when India and China have full blown economies. So the electric car will certainly be BIG part of the future transportation mix.
But I digress, the Hypnotoad has me waxing the Malibu.
