It seems the most crucial part of the hard break-in is within the first 20 miles. My dealer is located 23 miles from where I plan on doing this break-in procedure. What shall I do?

Do you reccomend changing the oil within 100 miles?

Which is the best oil filter?

The hard break-in procedure on an LS3:
Engine is warmed up. I shift to second gear, I give a hard accelaration(not flooring it) up to 5000 rpm's, let off and engine brake back to original speed I shifted into 2nd gear in and get back on it? (the first 100 miles?)
Sounds fine.

About the oil,,, Just use the oil in the engine. Draining it out and using the strait 30W non detergent oil is just a waste. They will break in with Mobil1 in them it just takes a little longer.
